Faculty Information

The Faculty is housed in a number of buildings situated on the All Saints campus, namely Ormond Building, All Saints, Cavendish, Undercroft and Mabel Tylecote. The Faculty's administrative centre (ie Faculty Office and Finance Office) is based in the Ormond building.

There are over 3,000 students studying across the Faculty in a mix of full-time and part-time courses. The Faculty also provides a base for the publication of the Manchester Region History Review. In addition, a number of well-established academic seminars meet regularly to promote discussion including the Human Science seminar, the Feminist Research seminar and the Social Change seminar.

A broad portfolio of courses is offered, both full-time and part-time, ranging from Certificate level to degree, post-graduate and doctorate level. The Faculty currently offers a number of funded post-graduate research studentships across a range of subject areas.

The Faculty has extensive computing facilities housed on the first floor of the Chatham building, plus a satellite TV viewing centre with access to fourteen foreign language channels located on the first floor of the Mabel Tylecote building. A multimedia computer suite, designed for interactive language learning, is adjacent to the satellite viewing centre.
